I'd really like to believe that people are more accepting of the glbtq community, but, sometimes, I don't feel any more secure than I did 25 years ago. I got to spend an entire week with my girl, out at her place. That was great. But I'm used to her here, with me. So, she lives in a town, out in the middle of nowhere, and we do go to the local watering hole on occasion. So, we just wanted a couple of beers and to share some nachos and wings, so we went to the local place. It's not a queer bar, the nearest queer bar is an hour away, but we went to just relax and enjoy eachother. We really keep to ourselves while we're there. We never show our true affection to eachother while we're at this place, we don't do anything to draw attention to ourselves, we just want to be together and enjoy a beer or two. Well, this creepy guy kept looking at us, and I never mentioned it to my girl. I just tryed to let it go, I only wanted to be with her, and really did'nt care about my surroundings. So we enjoyed our evening together, and then started to leave to go home. This F head of a creepy, elbowed me in the side as I was passing him on my way out, and I kept going, then I got to the door and looked back for my girl, and he did the same to her. We are fine, but I'm pissed off, we don't bother a soul, we just want to enjoy the same things heteros do, and without any hassels. I'm probably more pissed off that I didn't turn around and ask him wtf are you doing, but believe me, it's a scary hetero town. I guess I'm just saying, watch your back, even in this day and age.
